In our first month, we set Knysna as Nedbank Gravel Burn’s start location. As Richard set out his plans, 500km away in Cape Town, he needed a ‘local legend’ to engage with the landowners. Pax has 25 years of owning bike shops and organising bike races in the area, and a natural ability to bring out the best in people. He is our lead and key contact for all our Local Organising Committees at each stage location.
