Castle Lite announced as the Official Beer of Nedbank Gravel Burn

Gravel and beer go together like bacon and eggs, salt and pepper, burgers and chips… Adding an essential ingredient to the Burn Camp experience, Nedbank Gravel Burn today announced a much anticipated partnership with South African Breweries (SAB), the world’s leading brewer, securing Castle Lite as the Official Beer Partner of the race.

“My goal was always to make the race feel like riding with your mates,” says Kevin Vermaak, Founder of the Nedbank Gravel Burn. “At the end of the day you gather around the fire, get up from your chair, fetch an ice cold beer from the cooler box, and share a sundowner with riders from around the world. Thanks to SAB, that experience is real. Every rider can enjoy a variety of complimentary drinks in camp, with no need to ever reach for their wallet.”

From 25 October to 2 November 2025, across all seven days and nights of the Nedbank Gravel Burn, the Burn Camps become the heart of the experience. After long hours on gravel backroads, riders gather under the Karoo stars to share stories, connect, and unwind. Wine from Meerendal Wine Estate and SAB’s premium portfolio including Castle Lite, Castle Double Malt, Castle Zero, Corona Zero, and Flying Fish will be served in the Finish Boma and Lapas. These shared moments of refreshment at the end of each stage will feature prominently in the social life of the event.

“Castle Lite is the perfect refreshment to be a part of this exciting experience” says Colleen Duvenage, Brand Director: Castle Lite at SAB. “The Nedbank Gravel Burn brings people together in a unique way, and we are proud that Castle Lite will be there to celebrate the riders’ journey and to bring them extra cold, crisp moments with friends, from the first stage to the finish at Shamwari.”

The three year partnership will see SAB as the exclusive beer partner of the Nedbank Gravel Burn through 2027.
